December 2017, UAE – Brace yourselves and get ready to take part in one of the most rewarding cooking competitions ever. The popular show Fatafeat Star Chef, which launched the careers of 3 of Fatafeat’s top Chefs, is now back in a digital format on 7 December, looking for its next big cooking star. The campaign incorporates an online competition as well as a live web series.
The popular culinary competition is made up of 4 phases and only the best candidates will be eligible for the final phase. There will be a new episode airing every Thursday. The competition will entertain fans over a 13-week period on Facebook making it easier for everyone to like, follow and share their inspirations.
In the first phase, cooking enthusiasts and budding chefs will be called on to send their video submissions demonstrating their kitchen skills and proving their eligibility to join the Star Chef competition on http://www.fatafeat.com/starchef/ . The video submissions will be showcased during the episodes to make the audience familiar with the top contenders. At the end of the first phase, the entrants will be whittled down to eight contestants, chosen by the Fatafeat panel of expert judges. The short-listed contestants will be those who impress the panel and prove why they are ready for the “challenges” phase that follows.
The real challenge is revealed in the highly competitive second phase, taking place between 11 January and 8 February. The eight selected contestants will compete in a weekly challenge over 4 weeks, to prove their culinary skills and dedication. The weekly episodes will feature the challenge and showcase the submissions for the viewers to vote for their favourite picks each week. The contestants will be given a cumulative grade which takes into consideration the number of votes received as well as the grades given by Chef Mohamad Orfali. The top four contestants will then proceed to the semi-final phase which will be announced during a live stream on 9 February.
For the third phase, a live Facebook episode will be hosted with the contestants, during which the viewers will get a chance to cast live votes, deciding the fate of the finalists. Only two finalists will proceed to the final round creating great excitement and anticipation around the potential champion.
The two remaining finalists will fly to Dubai to attend the Fatafeat Kitchen 2018 event during Dubai Food Festival on 3 March, 2018. The finalists will battle it out in a live cook-off challenge to be crowned Star Chef and win the opportunity to have their very own cooking show on Fatafeat channel.
